I need to have multiple domains under a common parent: xyz.com -- abc.xyz.com -- def.xyz.com +-- ghj.xyz.com xyz.com is the parent domain, and has it's own users and has admin privileges over the child domains, ya-da, ya-da. Now I can create the child domains easily by just creating a DC for each.

There is no default domain explicitly specified for the Basic Auth. I also have multiple domains that are trusted that need access to the site. Occasionally I will get an error when trying to auth against the remote domains : -2146893039 (0x80090311) I think this error maps to a no authenticating authority error.
